Me and Scarlett Ecstasy

One thing I love about the University of Oregon is that our school hosts not one, but two annual drag shows. Last night I attended a drag show sponsored by the Residence Halls Association. The show featured performers from Eugene’s Shebang drag troupe who owned the stage in their platform heels and two story high wigs.

If you’ve never been to a drag show before, let me break it down for you:

Lip-synching + Sequins ÷ Lucite heels × Dick jokes = Drag Shows

The queens brought a ton of humor, charisma, and entertainment as they performed to pop hits and classics such as “Titanium” and “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.” They even took time to answer questions from the audience and take pictures. Performers included U of O’s own Scarlett Ecstasy and Renatta Flambée, as well as Karress Ann Slaughter, Daphne Storm, and more.

There is literally nothing better than a drag show to lift your spirits, so if you haven't seen one I suggest you do so asap. Or go watch an episode of RuPaul's Drag Race. Seriously, I dare you not to have fun.
